IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel Frank
Lynn
September 2, 1930 – September 3, 2024
Daniel Frank Lynn, 94, of Alden, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 3, 2024. Daniel (Dan) was born September 2, 1930, in Midland, Michigan, to Daniel W. and Martha E. (Henske) Lynn.
Staff Sergeant Lynn served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was stationed at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, as an Airplane Tech Instructor.
After returning home to Lansing, Michigan, he met and married his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret (Hoadley). Together, Dan and Margaret raised 5 children: Daniel C., Michael P. (Desiree), P. Terry (Lori), Mark D. (Kelli), and Diana L. (David) Schaefer. Loving Papa to: Amanda (Ben), Marcy (Dan), Jeremy (Angie), Jordan, Cameron (Kayla), David (Mikaela), Skyler (Chris), and Rylee, and Great Grandchildren, Keegan, Oliver, Eva, Aleyah, James, Caroline, and David III. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, parents, siblings, and very dear grandson, Jeremy.
Dan retired from DeWitt Public Schools in 1990 as the Transportation Supervisor and Bus Mechanic. Dan loved to garden and cook, play cards, fish, and in his younger years hunt. He enjoyed taking his family camping in his cherished bus "The Blue Goose" where they traveled through many states and most campgrounds in Michigan. Dan was known as Mr. Fix It, you could always count on him to lend a hand. He was a pillar in his community and beloved by so many. He was always ready with a funny saying, we imagine him playing tiddlywinks with manhole covers and pick up sticks with telephone poles. For many years after retirement, Dan and Margaret wintered in Mississippi.
