Darrell Ralph Sandison, 83, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2017. Darrell was born on August 11, 1933 to Leland and Melba (Lytle) Sandison. Darrell served his country proudly in the US Army at the tail end of the Korean War. In 1958 he married the former Mattie Anne Schlabach. Together they enjoyed 59 years of marriage and were blessed with 3 sons.
He was employed by Dow Chemical for 33 years. Darrell enjoyed life with a great sense of humor. He was a part of MMAP or the Mobile Missionary Assistants Program where he traveled serving God doing building projects. After retirement he and his wife resided in Florida for 22 years. There he enjoyed working for a friend's air vac business and was a gate monitor at The Villages, FL. Darrell was a U of M and Detroit Tiger fan. He also enjoyed gardening and his family and friends enjoyed his love of cooking and baking skills. Darrell was a faithful servant in his church and loved the Lord. He was surrounded by family for his last peaceful moments. He will be deeply missed.
Darrell is survived by his wife Anne; children, David (Amy) Sandison, Mark (Christine) Sandison, and Steven (Virginia) Sandison; grandchildren Keith (Emily), Jeremy (Jacqueline), Jonathan (Megan), Rebecca (Nathan) Sibary, Holly, Katherine, Melissa (Austin) Simpson and Candace; great-grandchildren. Nora, Jude, Charlie, Owen, Lyra, Henry and Kinsley; brothers, Kenneth (Joan) Sandison and Gary Sandison; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Virgil; and niece, Vicki Sandison.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Calvary Church, 1070 S. Quarterline, Muskegon MI. Family will receive guests from 10:00 AM until the time of services with a luncheon to follow.
