Obituary
David "Dave" L. Benner, 83, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021. He was born in Miamisburg, Ohio,
March 30, 1938, to Robert R. and Catherine (Weidle) Benner. Dave graduated from Whitehall High
School and proudly served his country in the US Army. On September 5, 1964, he married Sharon
Sorensen and they were happily married for 57 years.
Dave was an avid golfer and member of the White Lake Golf Club. He and Sharon loved to travel and
spent many happy days "just taking a drive" to wherever suited their fancy. Although he liked to explore
new places, Dave loved being at home catching up on the latest sports, grilling with friends, and working
on projects. In the fall, Dave especially liked to be outside blowing leaves.
Dave is survived by: his wife, Sharon; daughter, Kami (Steve) Michael; granddaughter, Audrey Michael;
brother, Charles A. (Frieda) Benner; special cousins, Nan Castor and Joe Shank; fond brother-in-law, Kaj
(Lori) Sorensen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by: his parents; and brother, Robert E. Benner.
A Celebration of Life may be held at a later date.
