David "Dave" Leroy Newberry, 87, of Kingsley, died Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Munson Medical Center.  He was born October 22, 1935, in Arcadia, the son of Charles and Myrtle (Johnson) Newberry.

Dave was a Jack of all trades at a young age working on the John and Mildred Miller farm. He served in the Army for a couple of years stationed at Fort Rucker. Soon after his return, he moved to Traverse City to start working at Setwell Hangers until it was acquisitioned. In the same building he started his 20-year career at United Technologies Corporations, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed his retirement doing odds and ends in his garage right up until his death.

On July 14, 1965, Traverse City, Michigan, Dave married Sharon Elizabeth Wise who survives him. He is also survived by: his children, Todd (Tina) Newberry of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Tracy (Brian) Newberry of Traverse City, Michigan; his brother, Charles Newberry (Jeanne) of Elk Rapids; sisters, Gertrude (Alben) Gross of Elk Rapids and Deanna Hull of Traverse City; and his little buddy, Tuffy, and the huggable, Meg.

Dave was preceded in death by: his parents; brother Robert Newberry; and sisters, Charla Moore and Marilyn Rice.

The family will receive friends, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel.
