Obituary

With heavy hearts, the family announces his passing of David Alan Nickerson, a man who brought light, laughter, and adventure to all who knew him. He left this world on March 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of joy, love, and unforgettable memories.

David "Dave" Alan Nickerson was born on August 16th, 1951, to Roger Nickerson and Vera Morgan in Grand Rapids Mi. The family moved to Kingsley where Dave was proud to grow up, surrounded by a loving family and friends. He was a 1969 graduate of Kingsley High School, where he proved his athletic ability, especially on the basketball court as a proud Kingsley Stag.

Born with an unstoppable spirit and a knack for making friends wherever he went, Dave had an energy that was truly contagious. He was the life of every gathering, always ready with a joke, a story, or a reason to celebrate. His ability to make people laugh and enjoy the moment was a gift he shared generously, and his presence made the world a brighter place.

A devoted husband and a loving father, he cherished his family making sure life was filled with excitement, adventure, and unforgettable experiences. On December 16, 1972, Dave married Pamela Sue Beagle and enjoyed 53 happy years together, filled with many beautiful memories.  He was an exceptional father that always gave the best advice. Whether it was a spontaneous road trip, a day of fun, or simply gathering around the dinner table, he made every moment special.  He enjoyed hiking with his family from the Swiss Alps to the Florida Everglades.

A savvy businessman, he built a remarkable career with passion and dedication, earning many accolades along the way. His charm, charisma, and sharp business mind made him a natural in his field, but it was his genuine kindness and ability to connect with people that truly set him apart.

He is survived by his wife Pamela, his mother Vera Nickerson of Kingsley, MI, his sister Valinda (Kenneth) Bilbrey of Marco Island FL, and their 4 children, Christa (Mark) Wassef of Naples, FL, Brandon (Brandy) Nickerson of Sieverville, TN, Angela (Joel) Diotte of Cedar, MI and Jordan Nickerson of Zurich, Switzerland, 9 wonderful grandchildren (Logan Nickerson, Dominic Wassef, Brooklyn Nickerson, Lilie Diotte, Grace Diotte, Maggie Diotte, Ava Nickerson, Ben Diotte, and Jaden Nickerson) and countless members of family and friends who will never forget his laughter, and a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever. Though our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that his love, humor, and adventurous spirit will live on in all of us.

Dave was preceded in death by his father Roger Nickerson, brother Peter Nickerson, sister-in-law Vicky Nickerson, and brothers-in-law Robert, Patrick, Joel, Christopher Beagle and Stace Stathakis.

A celebration of his life will be held from 2-5 PM, Sunday, June 15, 2025 at Cleveland Township Hall, 955 West Harbor HWY, Maple City, MI 49664 where we will gather to share stories, laughter, and honor the incredible man. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude's or the Alzheimer's Association in his memory.

Rest easy, my love, dad, Dave Nickerson. Your love, laughter, and light will never be forgotten.
