Dawn Marie Brimmer, 53, beloved daughter, sister and mother, lost her battle with cancer on the morning of February 26, 2021, surrounded by family and friends.  She was born November 9, 1967, in Hart, Michigan, the daughter of Raymond D. Brimmer and Karen A. (Rasmussen) Abbott. Growing up she attended many schools in several states and graduated from Pentwater High School in 1985. Dawn then completed her studies at West Shore Community College in 1987 with an Associates of Art Degree.

Dawn loved many activities while growing up. She played basketball for a few schools and also bowled in several leagues. Dawn enjoyed riding horses, water skiing and deer hunting when she was older.

She had a great love for her son, Philip Wilburn. He was born in 1999 after meeting Benjerman Wilburn.  She then dedicated herself to loving and caring for Philip until her sickness overwhelmed her.

Dawn is survived by: her son, Philip Wilburn; her parents, Raymond (Deanna) Brimmer and Karen (Rasmussen) Abbott;  step-father, Robert Abbott; sister, Cheri (Kenneth) Siegel; nephews, Justin (Lindita) Siegel, Jessie Siegel; and niece, Janell (Shane) Russell; six great-nephews, Johnathon, Coby, Brett, Trevin, Zander and Gavin Russell; and two great-nieces, Alexandria and Elizabeth Siegel.

She was preceded in death by: her sister, Kimberly Sue Brimmer; several aunts and uncles, Anthony and Melvin Brimmer, Lawrence and Eleanor Schlee, Charles Price, Jack and Rick Rasmussen, and Loreana (Rasmussen) Robbins; and her grandparents, Albert and Eliza Brimmer, and Vance and Jasmine Rasmussen.

At Dawn's request, there will be no funeral or memorial services.
