Obituary

Dawn Marie Pace, 53, of Kingsley Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on January 2, 2022, at Munson Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Dawn was born on October 27, 1968, the daughter of Barry Eugene and Julia Faye (Kennedy) Newcomb.

Dawn graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School, Class of 1986. Following high school, Dawn attended two years at Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dawn has had many careers in her life, starting out at 14 in the family restaurant, waitressing at Randy's Diner in Traverse City, managing the kitchen at Birchwood Nursing Home, driving for Federal Armored Truck, but her most favorite job was working in the kitchen at Kingsley Elementary. She loved being around children and was so amazing with them.

Dawn met the love of her life, Douglas Pace Sr. at Northern Lights Bar in 2005; they married on July 31, 2010. Her quick-witted humor and hilarious comebacks were unmatched, unless by her husband. They were perfect for each other. She enjoyed camping in the Upper Peninsula, off-roading, mudding and hunting. She always made time to have lunch and dinner with her parents several times a week. She was an amazing Grandmother and made each of her grandchildren feel loved and special in their own way. Dawn was a kind and caring soul. She accepted everyone as they were and always left you with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart. She was an avid believer in Bigfoot. She loved everyone with every fiber of her being and put everyone else's needs before her own. She always made sure her friends and family never went without.

Dawn is survived by: her parents; her loving husband of 11 years, Douglas Brian Pace Sr. of Kingsley; sons, Joseph Brocklehurst of Sault Ste Marie, Jesse Brocklehurst (Cassie Gotwalt) of Traverse City, and Douglas Pace II of Kingsley; daughters, Kayleigh Pace of Kingsley and Kristi Pace of Kingsley; brothers, Robert (Tricia) Johnson of Lake Ann and Brian (Sarah) Newcomb of Traverse City; grandchildren, Kayleigh, Elijah, Benjamin, Brantley, Tyler, Jaxson, Douglas III, and Ashton; and many loved Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by: her daughter, Kayla Marie Brocklehurst; and her grandparents, Terry and Ernestine Kennedy & Bill and Margarite Newcomb.
