Dean Jon Witt, 79, of Traverse City, died Monday, March 13, 2023, at Munson Hospice House, in Traverse City, with his family by his side.  He was born September 23, 1943, in Detroit, the son of John and Margaret Witt.

Dean was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was proud to have served his country.

On April 3, 1976, in Ann Arbor, Dean married Yvonne Anuchick Michalopoulos who survives him.  He is also survived by: his daughter, Kristen (Greg) Smith of Rapid City; stepson, Chriss (Tracy) Michalopoulos of Macomb; grandchildren, Amanda (CJ) Brodsky, Wesley Egeler, Anthony Michalopoulos, and Samantha Michalopoulos; great-grandson, Maxx Michalopoulos; and brother, Gerald Witt.

Dean was preceded in death by: his parents; and his stepson, Arvin Michalopoulos.

Services will be held at a later date.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
