Delores Dolly Lefler, 74, of Elk Rapids, Michigan, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 14, 1949, in Bay City, MI, the daughter of Russell and Lillian (McPherson) Friedle.

Delores grew up in Estey, Michigan. She met her husband Fred at the Adelphian Academy SDA school and they married August 25, 1968. They made their home and raised their family in Estey, residing there for nearly 40 years before moving to the Lefler family farm in Elk Rapids, MI.

Delores loved her family and was an amazing stay at home wife and mother. She then worked as a CNA for many years before retiring. She had an amazing green thumb and was an avid gardener, canning all she grew. She especially loved to work in her flower bed and with her plants. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and needlepoint. Delores and Fred liked to travel and explore the beautiful countryside together. Because she had so much love to share, she spent many years as a foster mother, nurturing and caring for special children and babies in need.

Delores was an active member of the Traverse City area Seventh Day Adventist Church where she leaves behind many special friends.

Delores is survived by her husband of 55 years, Fred Lefler; Daughter, Lucy (Eric) Huber;

Son, Walter (Susan) Lefler; Grand Daughters, Kayla Lefler and Kristen Lefler; Four great grandchildren, RJ, William, Lilly, and Aralynn; Brother, Russell (Marilyn) Friedle; Twin sister, Darlene Love; Sister, Kay Mapes; and Sister In Law, Sandra Friedle.

Preceding her in death were her parents; Brother, Robert Friedle; Brothers in Law, James Love and Donald Mapes.

Delores will be greatly missed and her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.

The family would like to thank Munson Home Health Care, Munson Hospice, and all the kind caregivers for their compassion and support during Delores's last days.
