Denise Ruth Burns, 80, of Ludington, formerly of Manistee, died Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Oceana County Medical Care Facility in Hart.  She was born September 16, 1944, in Manistee, the daughter of Daniel and Dorothy (Tangerstrom) Fairchild.

Denise worked as a registered nurse for over 20 years.  In her spare time, Denise enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Denise is survived by: her husband, Donald Burns; her daughter, Lucinda (Scott Sanderson) Couturier; her son, Rodney Thompson; 4 grandchildren, Brett Couturier, Trevor Couturier, Summer Thompson and Seth Thompson; 5 great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Olivia, Parker, Carson and Eila.

Denise was preceded in death by: her parents; and her brother, Daryl Fairchild.

Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
