Obituary

Diane Stanko, 82, of Williamsburg, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 11, 2021, at her home.  She was born on April 10, 1938, in Poland, the daughter of Frank and Aleksandra (Dobkowski) Janisqewski.  She immigrated to the United States in 1950, and her family lived in the metro Detroit area until she moved to northern Michigan. She married Daniel Stanko on October 4, 1958, and he preceded her in death in 2013.

Diane spent her career working for the public school system, lastly being employed by Michigan State University as an executive assistant. She loved to cook, enjoyed taking care of plants and trees on her property, boating on Elk Lake, and traveling to the U.P. on trips with her husband.

She is survived by: her son Thomas (Linda) Stanko; daughter Sandra (Victor) Zimmerman; and  grandchildren Anna Stanko, and William and Kali Zimmerman.

Graveside services will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Kewadin, in the spring.
