Obituary

Dianna Louise Brumer was welcomed with open arms by our Lord and Savior on May 25, 2026. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her children, their spouses, her twin sister, and her husband.

Dianna was born at Mt. Carmel Mercy Hospital the morning of April 20, 1947, a daughter to Kenneth and Frances Weinzapfel.

Dianna will be fondly remembered for her unwavering dedication to serving others. She cared for the sick and elderly for decades as a nurse at the Grand Traverse Pavilions. Even in recent years, she continued to help others through participation in a cancer treatment trial, exemplifying her lifelong commitment to helping others.

Dianna was a gift to everyone who knew her. Her generosity of spirit and kindness were ever-present. She was the consummate host, quick to offer a seat, a full plate, and a drink for a toast. Guided by her faith, especially during her final years, she drew strength, love, and support from her Faith Reformed Church community and small group.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Frances Windsor; stepfather, Duke Windsor; father, Kenneth Weinzapfel; and other loved ones.

She is survived by her husband, Harry Brumer; her children, Casey Baumann, Brooke Baumann, Josh (Julie) Baumann; her grandchildren, Jess and Jordan Baumann, and Breanne (Will) Kelderhouse; and her stepchildren, Harry (Christine) Brumer III and Gail (Andy) Ashley. She also leaves behind her siblings Kenneth (Barb) Weinzapfel, Jerry (Jo) Weinzapfel, Donna (Doyle Disbrow) Nelson, Chris (Linda) Weinzapfel, Greg (Donna) Weinzapfel and many nieces and nephews.

A church service celebrating her magnificent life will be held at Faith Reformed Church on Front Street in Traverse City, Michigan, on June 25, 2026. Family visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., Nurse Honor Guard tribute at 10:45, followed by the service at 11:00 a.m.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
