IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dolores Jane
Smith
September 5, 1940 – September 24, 2025
Dolores Jane Smith, 85, of Muskegon, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2025. She was born September 5, 1940, in Muskegon, the daughter of Joseph and Esther (Wroblewski) Lack.
Dolores graduated from Muskegon High School in 1958. After high school, she worked for Teledyne Continental Motors and then went to work for Hackley Hospital as a medical transcriptionist where she retired from.
She found so much joy in being her grandchildren's biggest supporter, whether she was bundled up in the stands at a sporting event, clapping proudly at a horse show, or simply cheering them on in everyday life. No matter how busy life became, she always made time to show up. In her free time, her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by her beloved family; sharing meals, telling stories, laughing together, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations. Grandma D was known for her incredible strength and determination, traits that carried her through every challenge life placed before her. Yet, despite her toughness, she had the warmest heart.
Grandma D's legacy is one of love, strength, and family. She taught those around her to never give up, to love deeply, and to always show up for the people who matter most. Her memory will continue to inspire everyone lucky enough to have known her.
Dolores is survived by: her daughter, Kimberly Sue (Burl Charles) Morningstar; grandchildren, Haley Lynn & Brock Robert Morningstar; and her faithful dog, Patches.
Dolores was preceded in death by: her parents, Joseph and Esther (Wroblewski) Lack; and her daughter, Deborah Lynn Boes.
