Donald “Don” Mikowski,96, was born and raised in Traverse City, died Saturday, April 11, 2026 at French Manor Terra, in Traverse City. He was born, July 30, 1929, in Traverse City, the son of Frances and Peter Mikowski.

Don was in the Coast Guard in Sault Ste. Marie, in 1948 and after his discharge he moved to Traverse City in 1950. He worked for Parsons Corporation until 1968 and then moved to Fond du Lac, Wisconsin to work for Brunswick Mercury Marine as an Engineer until he retired in 1989, and moved back to the town he loved most, Traverse City.

Don was an avid golfer, fisherman, bowler and hunter.

After his wife Frances passed away April 9, 2021 he moved to French Manor Terra.

Don is survived by his daughter Karen (John) Inkster, brother George Mikowski, nephews Brad (Sharon) Mikowski, Keith (Deb) Mikowski, Wayne (Kristy) Mikowski, Richard (Heatherbee) Brown and David Brown.

Private graveside services have been held.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Traverse City Chapel, is charge of arrangements.
