Donald Roscoe Lambrix, age 87, of Pentwater, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015. He was born December 30, 1927, in Kalamazoo to Roscoe Carson and Mary Jane (Loughead) Lambrix. After enjoying many summers and weekends of fishing, hunting and sailing at Bass Lake, he and his family moved permanently to Bass Lake at the age of fifteen. Don graduated from Pentwater High School with the class of 1945. He then served his country at the end of WWII in the United States Army as a corporal and company clerk stationed at Adak in the Aleutian Islands. After WWII he attended Michigan State University. While vacationing in Florida he met and married Mildred I. Mitchell on Anna Maria Island, FL; they were married sixty-four years. After his father's passing in 1957, he became the owner of Roscoe Lambrix Roofing and Supply which he ran until his retirement in 1992.

Don was actively involved in his community, he was a sixty year member of the Oceana Masonic Lodge, Life member of the Pentwater Yacht club, member of the Pentwater VFW, Secretary of the Pentwater School Board, member of Ludington Elks, Executive Member of the Timber Trails Council Boy Scouts of America, and an original member of the daily 'coffee group' in Pentwater. He was a member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. He enjoyed a lifetime of sailing Sunfish, Lightnings with three sons, and Ensigns for the past couple of decades including this past summer at the Pentwater Yacht Club.

He was also the devoted caregiver for his wife each day.

Donald is survived by his wife, Mildred I. Lambrix; three sons, James Lambrix of Pentwater, Jeffrey Lambrix of Sarasota, FL and Thomas (Diane) Lambrix of Grand Rapids; two grandsons, Timothy James Mitchell Lambrix and Christopher Scott Lambrix. He was preceded in death by his parents.
