He started working in the computer industry for McDonald Dairy in Flint and then at the Flint School Board when computers were so big they filled a whole room.
In 1977, Don married Jan and joined their two families. They enjoyed 47 years of family adventures, traveled the world and camped in many National Parks.
Don loved his family and he loved people. His smile was contagious.
He had a passion for music and sang with the Flint Male Chorus for over 40 years. He sang in his church's choirs and went to many concerts. He could be heard whistling when he was happy.
He was a dedicated University of Michigan fan and closely followed their football and basketball teams.
He loved playing table games with friends and family. You had to follow his rules (no cell phones, etc.)
Twenty three years ago Don and Jan moved to Elk Rapids to be near his sister.
