Donna Frietsch passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 8, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, the second child of Walter A. and Norma Jean Meier.

Donna grew up in Redford alongside her three siblings: Tom, Linda, and Walter. After graduating from Farmington High School, she moved to Florida, where she was introduced to the love of her life, Lawrence Frietsch, thanks to her dear friend Diane. Donna and Larry married on January 27, 1973, and together they built a beautiful life with their three children: Jacob, Tanya, and Melissa.

While living in Florida, Donna earned her LPN license. After returning to Michigan, she balanced working full-time and raising three teenagers while continuing her education to earn her RN license. She devoted many years to nursing, caring for her patients with the compassion, gentleness, and steadiness that defined her. After retiring, Donna embraced a life filled with the things she loved most: spending time with her six grandchildren, teaching herself to play the violin, raising and riding her two horses, and making memories on the water, boating and fishing alongside Larry.

She was renowned for the amazing dinners she hosted and the deep love she shared with her family. Donna cherished the simple, precious moments of daily life—whether she was taking walks with August, cooking dinners with Anna, or enjoying long chats with Lizzie and her son, Jacob. In her quiet times, she could always be found working on jigsaw puzzles, keeping a beloved pastime close to her heart, even though she deeply missed having Larry by her side to place the pieces.

Donna is survived by her siblings, Tom (Tara) Meier, Linda (Paul) Meier, and Walter N. (Stacie) Meier; her sister-in-law, Sandra (Greg) Wilson; her children, Jacob (the late Elin) Frietsch, Tanya (Wayne) Debski, and Melissa Herring; and her grandchildren, Jonathan, Anna, Elizabeth, August, Skyler, and Kody. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Frietsch; her daughter-in-law, Elin

Frietsch; her mother, Norma Jean Meier; her father, Walter A. Meier; and her parents-in-law, Lawrence, and Doris Frietsch.

Donna was known for her sweetness, her quiet strength, and her deep compassion.She touched many lives and will be missed more than words can express.

In keeping with her private nature and personal wishes, there will be no public service or memorial, and the family requests no donations, gifts, or flowers be sent; her immediate family will honor her life together in their own time.
