Doris June Ash, 90, of Traverse City, died Monday, March 21, 2022, at Medilodge of Traverse City. She was born February 20, 1932, in Herrin, Illinois, the daughter of Virgil and Mabel (Smith) Parsons.
Doris married the late Jack A. Ufer on December 17, 1949. The were members of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was a wonderful mother and housewife. Together with her husband, John H. Ash, they were landlords and cherry farmers.
Doris is survived by: six children: Theresa (John) Youngman of Traverse City; Catherine (Paul) Pettitt of Jonesboro, Georgia; John (Diane) of Sault Ste. Marie, David (Penny) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mark (Barbara) of Rockford, Michigan, and Michael (Valley) Ufer of Traverse City. In 1973, Doris married the late John H. Ash. She had seven stepchildren: Margaret (Andrew) Schofield of Traverse City, Judith Ash Vaught of Traverse City, the late Victoria Ash, Dora Ash Tate of Traverse City, Michael (Lisa) Ash of Traverse City, Lynette Ash Morgan of Traverse City, and Dale Ash of Traverse City; 34 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Doris was preceded in death by: her husbands, Jack A. Ufer and John H. Ash; sister, Phyllis Klimkiewicz; stepdaughter, Victoria Ash Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Lilly.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, in Traverse City, with Father Anthony Citro celebrant. Interment will take place in Oakwood Catholic Cemetery in Traverse City. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
