Mrs. Doris Louise Brandel, age 92, of Hart, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Mercy Health Partners Lakeshore Campus in Shelby.  She was born December 25, 1924, in Elbridge Township to Sylvester and Mercile (Lamb) House. Doris married George Carl Brandel in Memphis, TN on August 25, 1945 and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2015. She was employed at Anaconda Wire and Steel and as the bookkeeper for Brandel Septic Tank Service, as well as being a homemaker. Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing and needlework.

Doris is survived by three daughters: Louise (Bud) Olson of Mears, Janice Brandel of Muskegon and Shirley Steinmetz of Fruitport; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; two sisters: Cecil (Jack) Brandel of Hart and Joyce (Frank) Dykeman of Whitehall. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Grace Wittkamp, and Jenny Baade, brother, Harry House.

Following Doris' wishes, there will not be a funeral service. The family requests that any memorials be directed to a charity of your choice.
