Doris Evans

Doris (Coon) Evans, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026. She was born March 18, 1936, to Burton and Carrie (Scovill) Coon in Pentwater, Michigan.

Doris is survived by: her daughter, Kim Koster; son, Gregory (Marie) Hodges; bonus children, Marla (Scott) Kather, Vicky (James) Merills, Jackie (Richard) Merill, and Lisa (Chad) Steendam; grandchildren, Eric Hodges, and his children, Isaac Hodges and Sydni Hodges, Andrew (Cassandra) Hodges, and their children, Jack Hodges and Lucy Hodges, James Hodges, and Lea (Wayne) Tye; as well as many bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Roger Evans; daughter, Cindy Hodges Rowe; and siblings, George Coon, Joseph Coon, Larry Coon, Burton Coon, Margaret Kistler, Ann Gerber, and Liz Pider.

Doris was a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Women’s Auxiliary. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Oceana Eagles, 4535 North Oceana Drive, Hart, MI 49420.
