Dorothy Marie (Ferrier) Barney, 87, of Montague, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024. She was born November 6, 1936, in Paris, Michigan, the daughter of Charles and Alice (Allen) Ferrier.

In 1976, Dorothy married Allen Barney, and they spent 38 loving years together.

Dorothy worked as an electrical assembler for Kent Products. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, yodeling, and planting flowers in her garden.

Dorothy is survived by: children, Denise (Roger) Greve, Mark Kitchen, Diane Tyler, and Constance Ruud; two step-children, Nancy Charles and Dave (Jean) Barney; eight grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Barney; and children, Tommy Kitchen, Bradley Kitchen, and Linda Layman.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 22, 2024, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, White Lake Chapel, 413 South Mears Avenue, Whitehall, MI 49461. Visitation will be held Monday, from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at White Lake VFW Post 3256, 9370 Walsh Rd, Montague, MI 49437. A graveside service will take place at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2024, in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2188 Remembrance Dr, Muskegon, MI 49442.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with final expenses.
