Mrs. Dorothy M. Griffin, age 91, died Friday, March 30, 2007. She was born on June 27, 1915 in Hart to Claude and Ethyl (Wingett) Rummer. Dorothy married Walter H. Griffin, Sr. on January 16, 1931 in Elkhart, Indiana. She was a homemaker and devoted mother of 17 children. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Pinochle and was an avid reader. Dorothy was a member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church. She is survived by her children, Dawn M. (Joseph) Flannery of Hesperia, Stanley R. Griffin of Courtwright, Canada, Barry N. (Darlene) Griffin, of Laingsburg, MI, Leeland B. (Carol) Griffin of Merrysville, MI, Gary C. Griffin of Hesperia, Michael D. Griffin of Hesperia, Gregory Griffin of Wallhalla, MI, Candace L. LeMaire of Grand Haven, MI, Bethany M. Orwick of Grand Haven, MI, Bradley S. (Cynthia) Griffin of Haslett, MI, Dennis D. Griffin of Hesperia,Wendolyn G. (Richard) Irons of Morristown, TN, Stephanie B. Chamberlain of Grand Haven, MI, Mary M. Griffin of Rothbury, and Claudine L. (Bearle) Eastling of Muskegon. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter H. Griffin, Sr., 2 sons, Royce and Walter Jr., 1 grandson, David Griffin, 2 sisters, Doris and Beatrice, 1 brother, Richard Rummer. The Funeral Service for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Stephens Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Schwartz officiating. Interment in Hart Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Tate-King Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the St. Stephens Lutheran Church.
