Obituary

Dorothy "Dot" Louise Cargill, 91, of Hart was called home December 13, 2018. She was born on March 1, 1927 to the late William and Garnet Murphy of Scioto Furnace, Ohio. She married Lloyd "Bud" Richard Cargill on April 2, 1953.

Dorothy is survived by: her children, Dan (Jane) Cargill of New York, Rex (Cheryl) Cargill of Hart, and Patricia (Jeff) Brott of Florida; grandchildren, Ben Cargill, Jaime Lange, Alisha Pekor, Lori Cargill, Lynn Cunha, Steven Brott, and Katie Mace; great-grandchildren, Emma and Hannah Cargill, Bridgette and Abigail Lange, and Camilla and Gabriella Cunha; many nieces and nephews; and sisters, Betty Price and Carol Claxon.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: her husband of 59 years, Lloyd "Bud" Cargill in December of 2012; her mother and father; and sisters, Helen and Donna; Bud's siblings, Donald and Gerald Cargill, Margaret Kinney, and Ila Smith, all whom she thought of as her own.

Dot was a woman of deep faith when she moved from Ohio to Michigan. She became an amazing farmer's wife; learning to can, bake, and was a wonderful mother.

A memorial service will be held at 12 PM on April 13, 2019 at Hart United Methodist Church with Pastor Steve Young officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
