Dorothy Marie Smith, 86, of Ludington, passed away Monday, June 25, 2018, at Oakview Medical Care Facility in Ludington.  She was born December 17, 1931, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert and Ruby Williams.

Dorothy loved listening to music and dancing, solving crossword puzzles and going to the casino.  Most of all, Dorothy loved taking care of and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by: 6 children, Wesley (Ann) Holmes of Fountain, Joe (Lori) Holmes of Ludington, Lois (Gene) Edwards of Fort Pierce, Florida, John Holmes of Lansing, Tony (Nancy) Holmes of Roswell, Georgia and Gretchen Holmes of Ludington; 14 grandchildren, Rebecca Sorensen, Robert Randle, Jessica Rasmussen, Sierra Holmes, Brittany Holmes, Jeremy Edwards, Brooke Edwards, Jessica Kortge, Cal Kortge, Kevin Holmes, Laura Holmes-Zhao, Christopher Williams, Chad Williams and Jennifer Williams; her brother, Billy (Sherry) Williams of Phoenix, Arizona; her sister, Joan (Charlie) Vida of Muskegon; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by: 2 husbands, Thomas Holmes and Fred Smith; her son, Thomas Williams; and 2 sisters, Mutt Maitland and Elouise Balcom.

Graveside services will be conducted ati 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 28, 2018, at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington.
