Mr. Dylan Anthony Rafter, age 17, of Pentwater, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015. He was born May 18, 1998, in Ludington to Christina (Rafter) Perez. Dylan was a student at Pentwater High School in the 12th grade, Class of 2016 and employed as a server at the Pentwater Yacht Club. He enjoyed and was involved in many different activities; playing the tuba in band, dancing, helping other people in need, being a record holder in track and field events, mentoring other student athletes as well as being the Pentwater Falcon school mascot. Dylan started (founded) a backyard wrestling club (BYW) which grew and grew drawing many kids to love the sport of wrestling. He also had a love for turtles, music appreciation, Pop-Tarts, fishing, the Rugrats, and was known by others for his silly catch phrase, "Meow I'm A Turtle". Dylan was a unique, wonderful, caring person, a gift to us, and he was his mother's rock, her buddy. He would do anything for anyone. Don't forget that he loved you all and he will always be remembered for his big beautiful smile.
Dylan is survived by his mother, Christina Perez Rafter of Pentwater; brothers and sisters, Moses Perez of Pentwater, Aaron Perez of Pentwater, Marissa Littlefield of Pentwater, Austin Marsh of Pennsylvania, Mariah Perez of Baldwin, and Kyle Nash of Ludington; maternal grandparents, Bill (Marsha) Rafter of Fountain; grandmother, Glenna Green of Pentwater; aunts and uncles, Xander (Jaime) Rafter of Branch, Kane (Jamie) Rafter of Walhalla, Jennifer Rafter of Arizona, and Storm (Heather) Rafter of Ludington.
The Funeral Service for Mr. Rafter will be Friday, October 2, 2015, at 6:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Pentwater, 101 S. Rush Street, Pentwater, MI with Pastor Mark Lillie officiating. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015, from 3:00 – 5:30 pm at First Baptist Church of Pentwater.
