Mr. Edward P. Coleson, age 95, of Elmhurst, IL and formerly of Hart, died Saturday February 14, 2009. He was born on August 26, 1913 in Dundee, IA to Henry and Susie (Carter) Coleson. Mr. Coleson married the former Lola Marie Pettigrove on May 29, 1939 at the Hart Wesleyan Church. He had earned his Ph.D degree from the University of Michigan and was a college professor at Huntington College and Spring Arbor University. Mr. Coleson was a Hart area resident from 1924 to 1950 and was a member of the Hart Wesleyan Church. He is survived by his children, Loana (Donald) Ingram of Elmhurst, Il and Dr. Jeanene Coleson of Puerto Rico; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Amy Pettigrove of Grand Rapids and Myra Opal Brown of Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife Lola Marie in 1991, his daughter Marilyn Swartz in 2008 and by her brother, Ralph Coleson. The Funeral Service for Mr. Coleson will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. from the Hart Wesleyan Church with Pastor Glen Pettigrove officiating. Interment will be in the Elbridge Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hart Wesleyan Church.
