February 15, 1917 – June 27, 2017
Mrs. Eliene Pearl Cloud, age 100, of Spring Lake, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Oak Crest Willowbrook Manor in Spring Lake. She was born February 15, 1917, in Three Rivers to Clarence and Bessie (Davis) Ruggles. She graduated from Hart High School in 1934 and then completed secretarial course work. Eliene married Kenneth Cloud on November 15, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana. She was a homemaker her entire lifetime. Eliene was a faithful member of the Crystal Valley United Methodist Church, and the United Methodist Women.
Eliene found great joy in her life being with her family as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker, throughout her one hundred years of life. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She was active in her church, was known for her cooking and gardening, sewing, quilting and needle work.
Eliene is survived by two daughters: Karen (Richard) Iverson of Muskegon and Melissa (Wally) Martyniek of Grand Haven, and one son: Gary L. (Elizabeth) Cloud of East Lansing, MI; one sister: Leolah Boundy of Hart; she also has eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; daughter in law, Judy Cloud of Grant, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Cloud, her parents and her son, Larry L. Cloud, grandsons, Cory Cloud and Nicholas Iverson.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Cloud will be held Saturday, July 1, 2017, at 1:00 pm at Crystal Valley United Methodist Church with Pastor Ron Iris officiating. Interment will be made in Mount Ulysses Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at King Funeral Home and Cremation Services- Hart and Saturday from one hour prior to the service at Crystal Valley United Methodist Church, 1547 East Hammet Road, Hart.
Eliene's family would like to extend special thanks for the loving and compassionate care she received from her caregivers at American House Assisted Living Center Pebblebrook and Willowbrook.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to North Ottawa Community Hospice, 1309 Sheldon Road, Grand Haven, MI 49417 or Crystal Valley United Methodist Church, 1547 East Hammet Road, Hart, MI 49420.
