Elizabeth (O'Bresly) Beebe, 87, of Montague, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025. She was born March 8,1938, in Dunham, Kentucky, the daughter of Nicholas and Sybil (Falls) O'Bresly.
Elizabeth graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1955. After high school, she married Wilson (Ted) Shubert and they relocated to Montague, MI. Elizabeth worked as a homemaker raising three children in her early years. Later, she worked at Howmet Corporation in the shipping department. She enjoyed many years of working with friends at the local company and retired 1999.
Elizabeth found joy in the simple yet beautiful things in life. She had a special gift for home decorating and gardening, transforming every space she touched into a place of beauty and peace. Whether working with her hands sewing, doing needle point, cooking, or arranging a flower bed, she poured love and care into everything she did.
Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and she was a dedicated and active member of her church, where she served joyfully and generously. Elizabeth also treasured time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories through laughter, love, and togetherness. She worked tirelessly when others needed help or support. She was always willing to show up early and stay late should the situation require it.
She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Elizabeth is survived by: her children, Cheryl (Chris) Smith, Teri (David) VanHall, Stephen J. Shubert; grandchildren, Stephen (Stephanie) Shubert, Anthony (Jennifer) Smith, Adam W. Smith, Katherine (William) VanSweden, and Matthew (Carlynn) VanHall; great-grandchildren, Bowen, Emily, Isla Shubert, Lindsey, Kiera Smith, Jacob, Grace VanSweden, and Peyton VanHall; siblings, Alfred Obresly, Steve Obresly, and Mary Smeal; and brother and Sister in laws, Penny & Paul Carlson and Wayne & Sue Beebe.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by: husbands, Wilson (Ted) Shubert and James Oliver Beebe; parents, Nicholas & Sybil; siblings, Lewis, George, Violet, and Helen; and Dear friends and family, Marvin & Lilian Smeal, and Duane Smeal,
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at White Lake Wesleyan Church, 503 S Division St, Whitehall, MI 49461, with Pastor Tom Coffee presiding. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until time of service and a luncheon will follow at the Wesleyan church fellowship hall at approximately 1:30.
Memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse or a Charity of your choice.
