November 3, 1924 – November 25, 2017
Mrs. Elizabeth Hiscock, age 93 of Pentwater, passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017. She was born on November 3, 1924 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Warren and Elizabeth (Huggett) Fenn. Elizabeth married Francis Hiscock on June 27, 1943 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She obtained her Master's Degree in Early Childhood Development from Western Michigan University and was a public school teacher for many years until her retirement. Elizabeth was an active member of the Centenary United Methodist Church. Elizabeth, a dedicated kindergarten teacher, was active in church and community activities including PEO, the 29-er Mission Work Team (where she served as chief cook) and United Methodist Women. She traveled twice to then Zaire with Francis as a short term missionary and served at a Trustee at Centenary United Methodist Church. She and Francis were married for 74 years enjoying children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Francis Hiscock of Pentwater; two daughters, Anne (David) Soles of Pentwater, Elaine (Ken) Konyha of Lake Worth, FL; one son, Thomas (Connie) Hiscock of London, Ontario; seven grandchildren, Christopher Soles, Elizabeth Butler, Amy Coenen, Ben Hiscock, Max Konyha, Adam Konyha, John Konyha; several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Louise Blades, Laura Leeser, Sally Bosserd.
The Memorial Service for Mrs. Hiscock will be held Saturday, December 9, 2018 at 11:00 am from the Centenary United Methodist Church with Pastor Melanie Young officiating. Interment will be in the Pentwater Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3-6 pm at the Centenary United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Centenary United Methodist Church, 82 S. Hancock St., Pentwater, MI 49449.
