Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Elsie Mae Larcom announces her passing, at age 97 on January 7, 2023.  Elsie was born in Kingsley on July 17, 1925 to Pearl and Orville Riley.   Elsie married the love of her life Everett Larcom on December 23, 1948 and they shared 56 years of marriage before he passed in June of 2004.

Elsie and Everett are survived by their two children, Sharon (Mike) Huey and Linda Heiges, 6 grandchildren Libby(Andy) Sladek, Chad(Traci) Heiges, Todd(Karla) Heiges, Mischa(Tony) Consolino, Scott(Ashley) Heiges, and Heidi(Mick) Munford and 14 great grandchildren.  Elsie and Everett are also survived by a dear sister-in-law; Joyce Larcom, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Elsie and Everett are preceded in death by their parents, brother Bob and sister-in-law Catherine, and brother Ken.

Elsie had a great love of family; and spoke often of their yearly "girls trips" to Canada, where she rescued her beloved dog Muffy. She loved all animals and could often be found out in her yard feeding the birds, deer, skunks and ducks that visited her home.  Over the years, Everett and Elsie also cared for many stray cats.  Elsie enjoyed driving fast, westerns (namely Gunsmoke), bowling with family, playing Euchre and hunting.   Her infectious laugh and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

No services are planned at this time, please think of donating to the Cherryland Humane Society in Elsie's Honor.

Special thanks to the Munson Hospice House, and their compassionate care of Elsie during her last days.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
