Emery "Mac" Mackenzie Hatch, 84, of Whitehall, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2018. Mac was born June 1, 1934 the son of Emery and Jean Hatch.

In 1960 Mac married Joanne Greer. Together they were blessed with 2 children and 54 years of marriage until her death in 2014. Mac moved to Whitehall, in 1971, where he opened Skippers Landing 1, 2 and 3 and ran them for many years. Mac was a member of the White lake Lions Club, a Rotarian of the Whitehall Rotary Club, Commodore of White Lake Yacht Club and Mayor of the City of Whitehall from 1987-1989 and again from 2003-2015. He enjoyed playing golf, solving crossword puzzles, computer games and spending time at the White Lake Senior Center. Mac was a funny, charming, charismatic, friendly, community minded man who will be deeply missed.

Mac is survived by: his children, Greer Darby and Edward (Julie) Hatch; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Samantha, Garrett, Jacob and Tyler; brother, Robert (Karen) Hatch; sister, Peggy Price; and loving companion Sandra Price.

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Joanne; and his parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Friday, June 8, 2018, at Evangelical Covenant Church, 900 Warner St, Whitehall, MI, with Pastor Tom Beeghly officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will be in Oakhurst cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Howmet Playhouse or White Lake Senior Center.
