Ms. Emma Louise Ward, age 66, of Hart, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. She was born September 23, 1948, in Hart to Otis and Martha (Clark) Riddell. She graduated from high school and attended college. Emma was employed in the Newaygo County area working in home health care and had also worked at the Oceana County Medical Care Facility for many years. She was known to be a hard worker and independent.
Emma is survived by one daughter, June Woodworth of Hart; one son, Franklin Ward of Walkerville; two sisters, Alice VanVlett of Fremont and Alberta (Earl) Warmuskerken of Walkerville; two brothers, Albert (Gwen) Riddell, and Raymond (Lupe) Riddell of Hart; mother, Martha Barringer of Hart; three grandchildren, Jeremiah Woodworth, Jesse (Natasha) Woodworth, and Joseph (Leanna) Woodworth; several great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Otis Riddell; husband, Vergil Ward; and brother-in-law, Lee VanVleet.
The Memorial Service for Ms. Ward will be Saturday, September 19, 2015, at 1:00 pm at King Funeral Home in Hart with Glen Jeffrey officiating. Interment will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Hart. The family requests that any memorials be directed to the American Cancer Society, 129 Jefferson SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
