Mr. Ervin Paul Youngstrom, age 86, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016. He was born November 10, 1929, in Blue Island, IL to Axel and Dagmar (Stohlhammer) Youngstrom. Erv served in the US Army during the Korean conflict. He belonged to the Carpenter's Union Local 100 and worked many years as a pile driver for Towns Brothers Construction and Hardman Construction of Ludington. He put many volunteer hours into the VFW Memorial Park on Hart Lake. Erv was very proud of his Swedish heritage and a big U of M fan.
Ervin is survived by his wife, Carolee (Kelli) Youngstrom; children, Steve Youngstrom of Hart, Joan (Ken) Gerwig of Walker, and Scot (Kim) Youngstrom of St. Johns. His pride and joy his grandchildren, Anne Gerwig, Mary Fountain, Ken (Mindy) Jr., Dylan, Garrett (Emily), Demi (Mike) Youngstrom; his great-grandchildren, Landon, Sophia, and Hannah Gerwig, Coen and Evan Fountain; brothers, Robert (Rose) of Bay City, Roy of New Mexico, and Tom (Nancy) of Mears; numerous in laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Howard and Clifford Youngstrom.
The Graveside Service for Mr. Youngstrom will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Hart Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart Congregational United Church of Christ, 408 South State Street, Hart, MI 49420.
