Obituary

Mrs. Esther Jane Burrows, age 99, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011. She was born April 27, 1912, in LaValle, Wisconsin to August and Mary Zellman. She was employed at Schuler Hotel in Grand Haven and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Grand Haven.

Esther is survived by two daughters, Wanda (James) Gerdeen of Columbia, Missouri, and Jeannine (Don) Wierenga of Hart. She also has three grandchildren, Lori (Bill) Younker of Columbia, Missouri; Sonya (John) Tackkett of Kansas City, Missouri; and Tim (Wendy) Gerdeen of Houghton, Michigan. Her great-grandchildren are Joanna Younker of Memphis, Tennessee; Peter (Kimber) Younker of Vinton, Iowa; Mary Younker of Deerfield, Illinois; Harlan Gerdeen of Houghton, Michigan; Connor Tackkett of Kansas City, Missouri; and Skye Olson of Kansas City, Missouri. She has one great-great granddaughter, Kenzie Younker. Her sister, Eleanor Haskins of Battle Creek and a cousin, Evelyn Dakins of Cumberland, Wisconsin, also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Ella (Lloyd) Shrock, and Bessie (Leon) Coolidge, and her brother, Lewis Zellman.

Funeral services for Mrs. Burrows will be Saturday, November 19, 2011, at 2:00 pm at King Funeral Home in Hart with James Gerdeen officiating. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Elbridge Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Wycliffe Bible Translators, P.O. Box 628200, Orlando, FL 32862-8200, designated to the ministry of Boone and Julie Arledge.
