Mrs. Esther Alma Ginther, age 76, of Hart, passed away Monday, April 30, 2012. She was born October 18, 1935, in Sparta, Wisconsin, to James and Rachael (Telfer) Jordan. She married Donald R. Ginther on July 31, 1952, in Sparta, Wisconsin. She was employed at Marvin's Drugstore in Hart. An excellent seamstress, she had a business making clothes for American Girl Dolls. She was a member of Hart United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women and the church choir. Mrs. Ginther loved family life and was a wonderful cook and baker; she also played the organ.
Esther is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Donald Ginther; three daughters, Terrie (Gary) Gebhart of Hart, Denise (Al) Hopkins of Hart, and Tammy Parker of Grand Blanc; one son, Michael Ginther of Lansing; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Toni Jordan.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the King Funeral Home. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 308 S. State St., Hart, MI 49420.
