Mrs. Ethel Marie Sobers, age 97, of Hart, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012. She was born November 11, 1914, in Scottville to Alonzo and Mary (Stull) Swihart. On September 5, 1942, she married Earl L. Sobers in Hart. They were married thirty-three years before his passing on September 12, 1975. Mrs. Sobers was a member of Hart Wesleyan Church, where she played the organ. She was an outgoing person who loved gardening and flowers.
Ethel is survived by one son, Noel (Judy) Sobers of Hart; two granddaughters, Lisa (Scott) Agens of Bitely and Andrea Sobers of Hart; three great-grandchildren, Monica Blankenship and Michael and Corey Agens; one sister, Flossie Roth of Muskegon, one sister-in-law, Ethelyn Swihart of Hart; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two brothers, Ernest and Wayne Swihart; and three sisters, Pauline King, Fern Swihart, and Freda Peeraer.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Sobers will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Hart Wesleyan Church in Hart with Pastor David Gray officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the King Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hart Wesleyan Church, or the Oceana County Medical Care Facility.
