Mr. Eugene Sylvester Killian, age 83, of Pentwater, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2012. He was born March 12, 1928, in Marble Hill, Missouri to Leburn and Mabel (Hildebrand) Killian. He married the former Edna Louise Nelson on June 29, 1945, in Flint; they were married 66 years. He owned and operated Michigan Tire Company in Mt. Morris until his retirement in 1988. Eugene was a great outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He was an avid newspaper reader. He was known for his ready assistance and helping hand to his neighbors and he always completed his projects. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Pentwater. Eugene is survived by his wife, Edna Killian; a daughter, Janice (Richard) Hilderbrandt of Pentwater; a son, Dennis Eugene (Deborah) Killian of Clio; a brother, Dallas (Cathy) Killian of Branson, MO; a granddaughter, Dawn Marie (Michael) Shaw of Tokyo, Japan; and six great-grandchildren, Ciara, Katie, Jonathan, Parker, Lyndsey, and Abigail. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Donald and Billy Killian. The Funeral Service for Mr. Killian will be Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the King Funeral Home with Rev. Harris Hoekwater officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Linden, Michigan. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
