Mrs. Evelyn Myrtle Jane Hale, age 92, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012. She was born May 18, 1920, in Crystal Township to Furell and Alvina (Adle) Straley. She married Clarence Hale on October 1, 1938 in Hart; he preceded her in death on December 12, 1977. Evelyn was a bookkeeper and was employed at Gambles, Gales IGA, and Misco-Howmet Corporation. A graduate of Hart High School Class of 1938, Mrs. Hale was a member of the Hart United Methodist Church, where she was active in the women's society and as a Sunday School teacher. She was also involved in the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts and enjoyed needlework.

Evelyn is survived by one son, Bernard LeRoy Hale of Cedar Springs; two brothers, Ted Straley of Hart, and Robert Lee Straley of North Fort Myers, Florida; three grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, a brother, Harold Straley in 2003, and a sister-in-law, Betty Jane Straley, in 2011.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Hale will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at King Funeral Home with Pastor Rebecca Wieringa officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Mt. Ulysses Cemetery.
