Evelyn Grace King, 86 of Kewadin, died Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in Traverse City.  She was born December 12, 1936, in Elk Rapids, the daughter of Jesse and Anna (Southbird) Mitchell.

She was an Elder of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.

She loved Mickey Mouse and the Detroit Tigers.  She had a name for every one of her stuffed animals.  She was at her best teasing others.

Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents; and a sister, Mary Lou King.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM, Monday, March 13, 2023, at Kewadin Indian Mission Church, in Kewadin, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.

Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Elk Rapids Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
