Fay Marie Chapman Garceau, 88, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, formerly of Traverse City, Michigan, passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Lee Manor in Des Plaines, Illinois.  She was born February 17, 1935, in Negaunee, Michigan, the daughter of the late James and Mae (Strohl) Chapman

Fay was a lifelong homemaker, who enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting and baking.  She happily spent many years of retirement in Traverse City, where she loved to pick fruit at local farms, spend a day out shopping, sight-seeing while traveling and visiting the local restaurants.  Most of all, Fay loved spending time with family and friends. She was greatly beloved and will be dearly missed and remembered by all who knew her.

Fay is survived by: her husband of 65 years and partner in life, Neil Garceau; her son, Jim (Denise) Garceau; her daughter, Pam Garceau; her daughter-in-law, Jane Garceau; her grandchildren, Marissa, Nick, Lauren and Lexi; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.

Fay was preceded in death by: her son, Peter Garceau in March of 2023; and her sisters, Rita Peterson and Carol Garceau.
