Florence Gutowski Rockwall, 100, of Ludington, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at home. She was born February 16, 1918, in Manistee, the daughter of Jacob and Frances (Oleniczak) Gutowski.
Florence enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and playing cards. She loved keeping up to date on current events, staying sharp by solving crossword puzzles and telling it like it is. She was also an avid Detroit Tigers fan. Florence had been an active member of the Rosary Society and the Catholic Daughters for many years.
Florence is survived by: her son, James (Carol) Rockwall of Lowell; her daughter, Mary Ann (Donald) Cundy of Dearborn; 4 grandchildren, Patrick (Alaina) Rockwall of Saranac, Andrea Rockwall of Lowell, Robert (Melissa) Cundy of Riverview, and Elizabeth Cundy of Dearborn; 2 great-grandchildren, Anoriah Rockwall and Shayla Anger; 3 brothers, James (Charlotte) Gutowski of Freesoil, Bill (Linda) Gutowski of Muskegon, and Gordon (Maureen) Gutowski of Norton Shores; 2 sisters, Katherine (William) Tomczyk of Canton, and Jeanette Weaver of Manistee; her sister-in-law, Shirley Gutowski of Manistee; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Florence was preceded in death by: her husband, Bernard Rockwall in 1995; 2 brothers, Edmund Gutowski and Richard Gutowski; and her sister, Mary Williams.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM, Saturday, July 7, 2018, at St. Simon Catholic Church, in Ludington, with Father Wayne B. Wheeler presiding. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, July 6, 2018, from 6-8 PM with a time to pray the Rosary at 7:30 PM, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Pere Marquette Chapel, Ludington.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Guild, The Franciscan Friars of Holy Name Province, 144 West 32 nd Street, New York, NY, 1001-3202.
