Florine Billie Luotonen, age 89, of Kingsley passed away peacefully in her sleep, Friday May 21, 2021.  She was born April 10, 1932, in Detroit, to William Alfred and Katherina Teresa Wehner.  On August 6, 1949, she married the love of her life, Richard Allen Luotonen in Greenup, Kentucky.  Together they raised five children.

Flossie worked at Kingsley Area School as a teacher's aide and bus driver until her retirement in 1993.  Until her passing, many of the former students approached her with a smile on their face and fond memories while she worked at school.

Flossie volunteered at Interlochen Arts Academy and was a member of the Mayfield Chapel.  Flossie also enjoyed her ladies clubs, hand embroidery, and many other crafting projects.

Flossie's pride and joy were her five children, 12 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.    Flossie had a special place in her heart for each and every one of them.

Flossie is survived by: her daughters, Claudia (Wayne) Wicksall-Paulson, Becky (Robert) Bosner, and Terry (Wayne) Fritz.

Besides her parents, Flossie was preceded in death by: her husband, Richard Luotonen; son, John Luotonen; daughter, Leslie Kaleita; and grandson, Daniel Bosner.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Grand Traverse Pavilions and Cottages of Grand Traverse for the wonderful care she received while living there.

Memorial services will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Monday, June 14, 2021, at Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, Covell-Kingsley Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until time of services at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Rock of Kingsley.
