Mr. Francis M. Mills, age 95, of Naples, FL, passed away Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at his home.  He was born January 13, 1922, in St. Elmo, IL to Frank and Nettie (Kline) Mills.  He was employed at the Goodyear and Firestone Companies in Phoenix, followed by a position with Halliburton Service Company in 1944. His work took him to oil fields in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Oklahoma. After 22 years of working, he retired in 1966. He then moved to Pentwater and operated the Shaw Insurance Agency and sold real estate with Williams Realty. Francis married Betty Peacock in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1995. He then married Donna Tiffany on June 22, 1999 in Whitehall and she survives him.

Francis was an active member of the Masonic Lodge. He was awarded Mason of the Year by the Oceana Lodge #200 in 1990. He was selected Mason of the Year for his many community achievements including, committee service for Centenary United Methodist Church, Pentwater Village Council for four years, Past Commodore of the Pentwater Yacht Club, Past President of the Pentwater Historical Society in 1988-1989, Past Worshipful Master of the Oceana Lodge #200 in 1970 and 1989, and was Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #152 in 1970.

Francis is survived by his wife: Donna J. Mills of Naples and two daughters: Beverly Wheeler of Roosevelt Park and Louanne Snider of Pentwater; Six grandchildren, Mark (Sarah) Wheeler, Michael Wheeler, Marshelle (Ron) Stibitz, Kari Kokx, Amanda (Juan) Munoz, Jr., Luke (Millisa) Kokx; Eighteen great grandchildren; Nineteen great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Joyce Booth, grandson, Monty Wheeler, sister Janie Davis, three brothers, LeNore, Leslie, Fred Mills.

The Memorial Service for Mr. Mills will be Saturday, June 3, 2017, at 11:00 am at Evangelical Covenant Church, 900 Warner St., Whitehall with Pastor Thomas Beeghly officiating. Interment will be  in the Pentwater Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. at King Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Hart.  The Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM.
