Frank Joseph Seyka, born February 18, 1948, in Lansing, Michigan, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer. True to his nature, Frank fought with strength and determination for many years, never giving up and never losing his fighting spirit.
Frank was the son of Frank Sr. and Sophie (Jajko) Seyka and a proud graduate of Everett High School. He was also a two-year U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, Frank spent many years working for General Motors before retiring, a milestone that allowed him to enjoy life more fully. He lived in Grand Ledge for many years and later retired to Pentwater, Michigan, where he found peace and joy near the water.
Frank married Diane Kay Lotoszinski, the love of his life and his partner for four decades. They were married on January 18, 1986, and built a life together rooted in love, loyalty, and unwavering support. Diane stood beside Frank through every season of life, including his long battle with cancer, and their marriage remained the cornerstone of his life. The family also extends heartfelt gratitude to Debbie (Siwek) Judge, Diane's close friend and a constant presence, whose love and support made her an essential part of Frank and Diane's life together.
Earlier in life, Frank was married to Mary E. (Schnarr) Seyka, with whom he had two children: Mark Seyka (Sheri) and Mindy Domitrovich (Robert). He was a devoted grandpa to Kaylee Jo Seyka, Aidan Joseph Seyka, and Avery Jo Domitrovich, and nothing made him prouder than watching his grandchildren participate in their sporting events. An avid golfer, Frank cherished teaching both his son and grandson how to play. Frank also loved the outdoors and was a dedicated hunter who treasured time spent with his cousins at their Red Whiskers Hunt Club in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. In all areas of his life, Frank showed his love by being present, teaching all of us, by example, the importance of showing up, no matter what.
Frank is also survived by his sisters Linda Hartley (Bob) and Mary Anne, as well as his niece Josie and nephew Rob and the John and Joey Goff family. He was preceded in death by his sister Anne and his parents, Sophie and Frank Seyka.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the hospice care team for their compassion, kindness, and support during Frank's final days.
Frank will be remembered as a fighter, a devoted husband, father, grandpa, friend, and a man who deeply loved his family. His legacy is one of presence, perseverance, and love; by example, he taught all of us the importance of showing up.
A memorial at Palmer Bush Lansing Chapel of Frank's life will be held on his birthday on February 18, 2026.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Oceana County Animal Shelter.
Beacon Cremation & Funeral Service, King-Hart Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
