Mr. Gary P. Dennert, age 63 of Hart, died Thursday May 13, 2010. He was born in Hart on November 6, 1946 to Cecil F. and Virginia (Greiner) Dennert and had been a lifetime resident. On September 7, 1968 at St. Gregory Catholic Church, he married Carol A. Krauss. Gary had graduated from Aquinas College with a Bachelors Degree in Business. He was the owner of Michigan Freeze Pack and the co-owner of the Colonial Golf Club. He was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church and had served in the Michigan National Guard. Gary was also a member of the Hart Lions Club and was the chairman of the Mickey Stanley Lions Club Golf Outing. He also served as a board member of the Shelby State Bank. Gary was a basketball official for the Junior High Boys teams and had also coached the Junior High Boys Basketball teams. He was also a member of the Car Cruise Club. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Carol Dennert of Hart, children, Dee Dee Dennert of Grand Rapids, Darcy Dennert of Plano, TX and Brandon Dennert of Plano, TX; 1 grandson, Matthew Hasty of Grand Rapids; his brothers and sisters, Kathy (Chuck) Miesch of Grand Haven, Gene (Roberta) Dennert of Hart and Joanie (Tim) Beyer of Hart; his mother, Virginia Dennert of Hart; mother in law, Ann Krauss of Hart; brother in law, Ron Visscher of Whitehall; former son in law, Shane (Vicki) Hasty of Hart and her children, Morgan and Corey; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil F. "Rusty" Dennert on November 1, 2008; father in law, John Krauss in 1990; sister, Nancy Visscher. The Mass of the Resurrection will be offered Monday, May 17, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Gregory Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas Bolster presiding. Interment will be in the Hart Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. from the King Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Bread of Life Food Pantry, Good Samaritans or Crystal Valley Care Fund.
