Gary Elbert Schaub, 78, of Kingsley, died Monday, November 1, 2021, at home. He was born April 1, 1943, in Traverse City, the son of Albert and Anna (Herman) Schaub.
Gary was a member of St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church, in Kingsley, and the Knights of Columbus. Gary worked hard to provide for his family, owning and operating C-Land Excavating for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved hunting. Gary will be remembered as a hard-working family man --- The rock of the family.
On October 28, 1961, at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church, Gary married Frances Yoder who survives him. He is also survived by: children, Gary "Boe" (Renee) Schaub of Kingsley and Barbara (Brian) Reedy of Traverse City; grandchildren, Christopher (Lita) Schaub of Kingsley, Darrick Wagner of Kingsley, and Rachel (Talon) Sivrais of Columbus, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Lakies, Christian Schaub, Hunter Schaub, Brayden Wagner, Luca Mohr, and Colson Sivrais; siblings, Roger Schaub, Norma Schaub, David Schaub, Donald Schaub, Marie Schaub, Carol Strandel, Randy Schaub, and Rhonda Edwards; his beloved shih tzus, Buddy and Sammy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gary was preceded in death by: his parents; daughter, Mary Ellen Schaub; and brothers Andrew and Glen Schaub.
Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Church, in Kingsley, with Father Joseph Muszkiewicz celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary of Hannah Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
