Obituary

Georgia Martha Coulier, 88, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2024. She was born February 22, 1936, in Grand Rapids, the daughter of Darwin and Alice (McIntosh) Maynard.

Georgia, from a young age and throughout her entire life, was a caregiver at heart, providing care to people of all ages and for various reasons. She lovingly embraced her family and local community in everything she did. Georgia was a lunch lady at Hart Public Schools, as well as a crossing guard. She also was a former cook for the Oceana County Jail and she was instrumental in spearheading the Skate Park project in Hart. Georgia even ran for Asparagus Queen at the age of 75 for the Oceana County National Asparagus Festival; her pageant portrait adorns this obituary.

Georgia's mindset was forever changed following a house fire, when the community showed overwhelming support to her and her family. Following those tremendous acts of kindness, she then started storing emergency supplies for others in need.  Georgia was truly a community advocate and strived to be a positive light for those who needed it.

Georgia, also lovingly known as 'mini-great' and 'granny' by her family, is survived by: her children, Peter (Sue) Coulier, John (Marsha) Coulier, Janis (Randal) Jacobs, and Paula (Hugh) Bonstell; her grandchildren, Eric Coulier, Brandy Knutson, Scott (Yuan) Coulier, Christopher Coulier, Michelle (Sarah) Coulier, Laura Coulier, Nicole Jacobs, Aaron Jacobs, Alyse Jacobs, Nathan (Katherine) Bonstell, and Dale Bonstell; her great-grandchildren, Jaelyn Ridley, Will Knutson, Reese Knutson, Quintin Coulier, Quincy Coulier, Hobie Bickel, Jasmin Bickel, RyAnne Jacobs, Allanah Jacobs, Darwin Bonstell, Kiera Nielson, Thomas Bonstell and Lillian Bonstell; as well as her siblings, Maxine (Bruce) Snoap and Charles (Carol) Maynard.

Georgia was preceded in death by: her husband, Floyd Coulier; her parents; and her siblings, Robert, Mike, Carol, Tom, Geri, Ina, Alyse, and Katherine.
