Gerald Robert Buck Sr., 91, of Ludington, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, 24 July 2018.  He was born 31 May 1927, in Ludington, the son of Barney and Ruth Leone (Race) Buck.

Jerry's life stands as our role model for all of us to emulate him and feel so blessed to have had him in our life. He taught science courses at the high school level but his heart was always in being a fruit grower. He planted 120 trees 5 weeks prior to his death. Jerry had the breadth of knowledge on subjects large and small and the qualities of hard work, dedication and compassion. All of us who knew him were so lucky to have shared him for many years, he lived an exemplary life for 91 years.

On 2 February 1955, in Mexico City, Mexico, Gerald married Emma A. Villafaña, who survives him.  He is also survived by: 6 children, Maria (Mike) Urka of Scottville, Patricia (Edward) Barden of Wyckoff, New Jersey, Gail Buck of Ludington, Donald Buck of Los Angeles, California, Gerald (Pamela) Buck Jr. of Ludington and Rosalie Buck of Branchburg, New Jersey; 11 grandchildren, Michelle (Mark) Renz, Matt (Tiffany) Urka, Marcus (Katie) Urka, MacKenzie (Jason) Koonce, Brian Antoniano, Joe Antoniano, Megan (Sam) Peña, Kellye (Tim) Vallario, Lee (Victoria) Barden, Karlee Remoli and Daniel Remoli; his sisters, Joanne (John) Carter of Minnesota, and Jean Ross of Sanford; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Gerald was preceded in death by: his parents; and his brothers, Donald, Richard and William.

Committal services will be held at 4:00 PM, Friday, 27 July 2018, at Center Riverton Cemetery followed by a reception at the Riverton Township Hall.
