Mr. Gerald Lee Dennert, age 69, of Hart, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014. He was born July 9, 1944, in Hart, Michigan, to Edgar and Bernadette (Greiner) Dennert. Jerry graduated from Pentwater High School with the Class of 1962. He owned Dennert State Farm Insurance Agency and was a member of the Hart Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus 2199, and the FOE Eagles. His family and friends were important to him and he enjoyed his work at State Farm, traveling, and Elvis. Jerry had a passion for horses and loved all kinds of cars, but especially Ford Mustangs. His cancer support group was also very important to him.

Gerald is survived by his three children, Jennifer (Ozell) Hickman of Chicago, Illinois, Amber Dennert of Hart, and Adam Dennert of Hart; eight grandchildren; one brother, Bob Dennert of Hart; two step-daughters, Mary (Kevin) Douglas of Traverse City and Laura (Erik) Huffman of Muskegon; and his cousin Gary's wife, Carol Dennert. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ron Dennert; and his cousin, Gary Dennert.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Mr. Dennert will be offered on Friday, May 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Thomas Bolster presiding. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the King Funeral Home. Interment will be in Hart Cemetery. The family requests that any memorials be directed to Hope Guest Lodge, 129 Jefferson SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503.
