Gerald Verschueren, 83, of Hart, Michigan passed away peacefully on February 15, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon, Michigan.

Gerald (Jerry) was born on April 28, 1938, to John and Mary Verschueren, and he was the first of two children.

He attended and graduated from Hart High School in 1956 and immediately joined the United States Air Force where he served his nation well for six years.  While serving, Jerry received several commendations as well as the Air Medal for outstanding performance that saved an aircraft and all lives aboard.

Jerry enjoyed a 27 year career with the City of Hart where he retired in 2000 from his position as Superintendent of the City Streets and Utilities departments.

Jerry is survived by LaRue, his loving wife of 37 years and by his four children, Tony (Lisa) Verschueren, Deb (Patrick) Tate, Mark (Stephanie) Verschueren, Michelle Verschueren, and one step daughter, Cindy Curtis.  He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his father and mother, John and Mary; sister, Suzy and step son, Craig Curtis.

At Jerry's request no service will be held.
